One Statement Piece, Three Ways: Styling These Brown Swirl Flare Pants

If there's one thing I believe about fashion, it's that a single great piece can do all the heavy lifting. And these brown swirl flare pants? They are that piece.

I picked these up second-hand and honestly could not stop thinking about how many ways you could wear them. So I put together three looks — because that's what Re:dressed is all about. Getting more out of less, and doing it with style.

What you're working with

These are SHEIN flare pants in a rich chocolate brown with a cream abstract swirl print. Size medium, 105cm length, 95% polyester so they drape beautifully. The elasticated waist makes them incredibly comfortable — you could genuinely wear these all day. Condition is like new. Available on my Yaga store for R65 + delivery.

Look 1 — Casual & Clean

White crop top, chunky white sneakers, black shoulder bag and some dainty silver jewellery. This is your "running errands but make it cute" look. The white keeps it fresh and lets the print do all the talking. Simple, effortless, very Pinterest.

Look 2 — Y2K Streetwear

Brown graphic tee (matched to the pants — monochromatic is always a yes), high-top Converse, a canvas tote bag and a layered gold necklace. This one gives full Y2K energy and works perfectly for a casual day out in Cape Town. Think Long Street, think Obs, think Saturday market vibes.

Look 3 — Sleek & Edgy

Black long-sleeve crop top, chunky black platform shoes, black mini bag and silver hoop earrings. This combo takes the pants from daytime to night out. The all-black top half is a classic move when you want your bottoms to be the star.
